The summer I got lost in Noosa!

Welcome to Destination Dotti, a series inspired by the questions I get asked on the reg: “Where should I stay?” “Where should I eat?” “What’s actually worth doing?”

It’s my little passion project, blending my love for travel, storytelling and all things local tourism. And honestly, there’s no better place to start than right here in my own backyard: Noosa.

Born and bred in this sun-drenched paradise, I’m basically a full-time Noosa enthusiast. By day, I run my boutique marketing consultancy, supporting the local tourism industry with killer content and digital marketing. By night… I’m probably immersing myself in the best hidden gems this place has to offer, unless I’m scrolling my clients’ local feeds and feeling serious FOMO about the beach day I just missed.

So, consider this your insider’s guide to the season we love most: Summer. Think golden afternoons, salty hair, hidden gems and tips only a local could tell.

Whether you’re plotting your next visit, a local yourself, or just here for a dose of Dotti daydreaming, dive on in. We’re about to reach our next stop: Destination Noosa.

WHERE TO STAY

So, where are the best places to stay? I’m lucky enough to explore a range of holiday homes, apartments and boutique stays as part of my everyday. Whether you’re here for the weekend, planning a staycation, or just want a sticky beak, here are a few places you may not have heard of that are totally worth booking.

Noosa International Resort - To book this property please get in touch with Accom Noosa.

9 La Mer, Sunshine Beach - Say less, this gem offers the best base in Sunshine Beach. To book this property be in touch with the team at Sunshine Beach Real Estate.

One Little Cove - To book this property reach out to Alloggio.

WHERE TO EAT

Food, glorious food. Noosa’s dining scene is nothing short of delish. With a mix of fusion cuisine on offer, we’re truly spoilt for choice when it comes to eats! Here are my absolute must-try favourites, all about experience and flavour, to add to your must-eat list.

Lucio's Marina - this one has my heart…

Mr Drifter - casual street food, perfect for friend catch-ups, tasty bites, and a vibey scene.

Pearls Burgers - chips to die for.

Belmondos Organic Market - a local favourite for fresh, organic goodness.

WHERE TO PLAY

There is always something to do in Noosa! What was once a considered a sleepy town is now bursting with new adventures and experiences popping up around every corner.

But before diving into all the new things I’m loving, I can’t go past a classic Noosa Ferry Cruise. This is wildly nostalgic for me and transports me back to the old Noosa days that I grew up in. But for both locals and tourists alike, this is truly an experience you must do this summer! With live commentary, BYO, and pet-friendly options, there’s something for everyone.

A day trip up to Noosa North Shore and Double Island Point is always on my list. Epic Ocean Adventures can help you plan if you’d like to be whisked away and have someone guide your day. On my summer budget list? Immersing myself in new dining experiences with friends and family, from casual pub lunches at The Royal Mail Hotel to a spot that’s fast becoming my favourite, Cibaria.

Beyond summer, keep an eye on upcoming events like the Noosa Festival of Surfing (surfing dogs are always a highlight!) and the return of Noosa Food and Wine.

Happy summer, Love, Phoebs
